Bees may scare most of us, but bees are important to keep Nature in balance and maintain the equilibrium. Create a bee shelter
in your neighbourhood where there is plenty of greenery and plantation.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Due to constant encroachment of natural
habitats, the population of bees has
drastically reduced. - Find an area in your locality which is green and away from houses so as
not to cause any inconvenience to your neighbours. - Plant flowers and plants in the soil which attract bees.
- Once you have planted your greenery, use only
natural fertilizers on them. Artificial
fertilizers kill bees. - Create a small bird bath or fill a shallow
tub with water and make sure the
water is cleaned every day.
Surround it with rocks and pebbles. - Add logs, birdhouses, tree
stumps, etc. to provide a
shelter for the bees,
from wind and rain.
RESULT
Bees need fresh clean water every
day, and also small ‘landing-pad’ type areas which can be made with the help of rocks and pebbles. By creating a natural bee habitat in your neighbourhood, you would help not only maintain a natural eco-balance but also increase the population of bees.
