The Balanced Rock is an amazing geological feature made of hematite and situated in the Garden of Gods, which is a public park located in Colorado, United States. The Balanced Rock is one of the many stunning rock formations that were created in the sedimentary beds of sandstones and limestone. The rock is a fountain formation that is a result of the years of erosion that carved out of the soft layers specifically near the base, creating a very perilous formation that looks like it could topple over any moment. This stunning formation along with the rest of the ‘garden’ was created many million years ago and is believed to have been visited by prehistoric people.
