One afternoon, Peter and his family were having a picnic on the sea beach. Peter took a huge sandwich and stood on a rock while he ate it. After eating half the sandwich, Peter felt full. He decided to throw the rest of the sandwich and the napkin into the sea. Just as he had raised his arm to do so, a gentle voice spoke up, “No, wait! Please don’t do that.” Peter looked at the waves and he saw a tiny fairy with shimmering wings above the surf. He asked, “Who are you?” “I am Aqua, the sea fairy. People throw so much rubbish into the sea that it pollutes the sea water. The sea creatures fall sick due to this and die.” Peter felt very embarrassed and apologised to Aqua. He realised the sea is also someone’s home and everyone must protect it. He went back and told his family not to throw litter into the sea.
