Use your berry litmus paper again to test your tap water, soil, swimming pool or pond water, even your saliva (spit)!
Things Required:
Homemade berry litmus strips
Containers (small jars, paper or Styrofoam cups, margarine tubs)
Testing samples:
Backyard soil with water
Tap water
Local pond
Lake
River water
Saliva
Whatever else you like
Directions:
Dip the strips of litmus paper into the samples.
This Is What Happens:
The strips will change colour depending on whether the samples are more acid or alkali.
Science Behind It:
The litmus papers are positive tests for the acids or bases in substances.
