One night, Mulla Nasruddin heard a knock at his door. He opened the door and saw a stranger standing outside. The stranger said, “Mulla Nasruddin, can you help a brother out by offering shelter for the night? You see, I am God’s nephew.” “Oh, is that so?” said Mulla. “It surely is,” the stranger replied. “Well then,” said Mulla, “For a special guest such as you, I must offer only the most special place to spend the night.” Mulla stepped outside and closed his door, and then turned to the stranger and said, “Follow me.” The stranger was confused but he curiously followed Mulla. After walking for five minutes, they reached the local Mosque. Mulla turned to the stranger and said, “And what better place could I offer you to stay the night than here at your own uncle’s house!” The stranger was taken aback. He turned around and left, without uttering a word.
