Anne loved to go and play in the garden. It was spring and all the flowers were in full bloom. One morning as Anne was sitting in the garden, she heard someone talking but she couldn’t see anyone. The voice seemed to be coming from where the flowers were. Anne went closer to the flowers. When she was near the tulips, she heard someone ask, “Who’re you?” Anne nearly jumped out of her skin. “Err… I’m Anne…!” she replied. She looked at the tulips closely and saw a tiny maiden with crimson lips and cheeks sitting on the petals of a tulip. “I’m the flower Maiden and I live with the flowers. They wither and bloom for me,” said the maiden extending her tiny hand. Anne smiled and asked, “Can we be friends?” “Sure,” said the flower Maiden. Anne was very happy. She now had a secret friend in the garden.
