It is the biggest town in the Cochem-Zell district, in Germany. Cochem has been settled since as early as the Celtic and Roman times. A traditional German town with half-timbered houses and a truly scenic location, Cochem is a traveller’s paradise. Settled peacefully along the Mosel River in the most romantic part of the valley, Cochem is known as pearl of River Moselle and is any hiker’s paradise. The buildings, structures and the town itself all have marks left on them for past centuries. The castle too is a link between the past and the present representing the surrounding region.
