The Giant Crystal Cave is a cave located 300 metres below the surface in Naica, Chihuahua, Mexico. With giant selenite or gypsum crystals shooting out from every angle within the cave, this strange landscape looks like something from the Superman’s home planet. These beautiful crystals were formed when the sulphide ions saturated ground water was heated by the magma that lay below the cave. As a result, the cave is always extremely hot with 90-99% humidity. The largest crystals found in the cave are 12 metre in length, 4 metre in diameter and weigh 55 tons.
