Ruby Falls

Ruby-Falls

Ruby Falls are breathtaking falls located 1,120 feet under the surface of the Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Discovered by a cave enthusiast by the name of Leo Lambert in the 1920, the Ruby Falls Cave did not have any natural opening unlike the Lookout Mountain cave. The cave themselves were formed 200 million years ago out of limestone. The Ruby Falls are fed by water from rainwater and natural springs that collect within the cave in a pool, which continues through the mountain and joins River Tennessee.
