Miss Huggins was very upset about losing her umbrella and reported it to the police. They searched everywhere and asked a lot of people. But none had seen the umbrella. One day, however, a small elf named Inkle was arrested and brought to the police station. He had been caught with the stolen umbrella. “Where did you find it?” asked the constable. “In a shop, sir” replied Inkle. “Why did you take it?” the constable asked. “Sir, there was a board that said ‘Not for Sale’ near it. I thought anyone could take it,” said Inkle. “That umbrella is too big for you,” explained the constable, “So, why would you need it?” “It made a lovely roof for the fairy princess’ house, sir,” smiled Inkle. Miss Huggins was so amused that she made friends with Inkle and the fairy princess! Now they lived in her garden.
