As he could think of nothing else, he summoned Uriah from the battlefield. He asked him to rest for few days and then leave for the field. However in the morning, the learned Uriah stayed at the place with other guards. He tried a few more times to ask to Uriah to go back home and spend some time with his wife. At last when nothing worked, he asked his general Joab to plot and get Uriah killed on the battlefield. Soon after a few days, the general sent him a message stating that the soldier was killed. David was happy now because he could marry Bathsheba.
