Once he became king, David had a comfortable life, but he was not happy with it. He was upset because God’s convent chest was still in the tent, while he was enjoying the luxury. Thus, he summoned his courtier and asked him to build a temple for God. However, God didn’t want one; rather he didn’t want a beautiful building for himself. He was upset, but had to obey what God had asked him to do so. God was so pleased with him that he was promised that his son would rule the kingdom.
