Samuel’s army was fighting day in and out with the Philistine army. However, the fight was not easy, as the Philistines were quite strong. Jesses three son were in the battlefield, and one fine day Jesse was quite worried about his sons. He called his younger son David, and asked him to go to the battlefield and check how his brothers were. He also asked him to take some fresh bread and cheese for his brothers and the officers. When he reached there, he found that both the armies were quite well prepared to fight the war. Then suddenly, they heard a voice from a tall and strong man, whose name was Goliath. He came and challenged David and said if he could defeat him then the Philistines would become their slave. David spoke high about God, and said the same thing to Samuel when he called him to his tent to meet him. David said that he had fought a lot and killed tigers and bears to save his sheep and he would surely defeat him.
