It has curved fingers, elongated hands, extremely long arms and relatively short legs that make it extremely mobile. The fur colouring of the lar gibbon varies from black and dark-brown to light-brown, sandy colours. It is considered frugivorous and its diet consists of fruits, flowers and insects. They are monogamous, i.e. have one partner for life, unlike other primates.
