Hyraxes, also known as rock rabbits, are small herbivorous mammals found in a number of habitats across Africa. They usually have brown, grey, yellow or mixed fur with lighter bellies, small tails and short limbs. Depending on the species, they measure between 30-70 cm in length, weigh between 2-5 kg and have a life span of up to 12 years.
