Once, a poor man was wandering in a forest. The tired man decided to rest against a tree. The tree was a Bodhisattva in its previous birth. And now it was a magical tree. As the man sat, he thought of searching for drinking water. Magically, a cup of cool water appeared in his hand! The poor man was shocked. As he was hungry, he wished for food and a meal appeared before him. ‘Somehow, my wishes are being granted,’ thought the poor man. “I now wish for a home for myself,” he said aloud. A beautiful home appeared in the forest. The poor man was very happy. All his wishes were coming true. Soon, he had a huge treasure, servants and also a beautiful wife to share his treasure with. He found it unbelievable and said, “I cannot be this lucky! This cannot happen to me!” As he said these words, everything disappeared. He was poor again.
