Well begun is half done

Origin
This is a 15th-century proverb.
Explanation
Usually, what it is fearful for us is to experience something for the first time. Therefore, since we equipped the courage to take the initial step of it, what only left is the half. The effort to maintain the courage till the end comes from our scared mind and preconception that ‘I might not be able to do it’.In this sense, the proverb actually comes to the point of the importance of ‘starting’. If we hesitate to face the difficulty and take the easy way from the first, it tends to goes on and reaches the result of being failed. However, if we challenge it once, it takes less fear to confront the remaining problems thinking ‘I have already overcome the first obstacle and what worse I shall confront.’A good beginning almost assures success. If you start a thing badly, it takes a long time to finish it, because the bad start seriously affects the later work. But if you make a good start, everything follows naturally and easily. For example, if the foundations of a house are sound and well constructed, the house is better built and put up more rapidly than if it has to be erected on faulty foundations.
