The enemy troops of Jambudweepa were reported to have camped in the Ghats, a little beyond the border of Karpuradweepa. So, Chakravaka suggested that they should prepare to attack them before they had an opportunity to lay siege to the capital of Karpuradweepa. “King Jewel Plume has not taken the advice of his minister, the wise vulture, Doordarshi,” explained Chakravaka, “He has rushed into the battle, so we are better prepared. It is always better to attack when the enemy is tired or in disarray. So, let us attack them now.” The army of King Silver Plume was ready and they attacked the forces of Jambudweepa. Many of their soldiers and generals were killed. King Jewel Plume was unhappy and he consulted the old vulture once more. “What did we do wrong?” he asked. “A wise king does not neglect the advice of wise men even if he himself is learned,” said Doordarshi.
