Once, there were four baby birds named Simu, Mitu, Tinu and Kitu. They lived with their mother on a banyan tree. One day, they had been told by the mother that they would have to fly down and have to bring a worm each. The three siblings Simu, Mitu and Tinu were very excited for their first fly. But Kitu was afraid about it and hesitated and wondered, ‘What would happen when he forgot to flap his wing.’ Now the time had arrived when they had to prove themselves.
Simu, Mitu and Tinu took their first plunge one by one. Simu and Mitu threw open their wings and flew away. Tinu dropped in the first time but she collected her all courage and flew away. It was Kitu’s turn to fly but it gave her nervousness. Then Kitu’s mother encouraged her and finally Kitu came to the edge of the branch. Closing her eyes, she took the plunge. Her wings swung open and she soared higher and higher. “Hey, I can fly too!” she screamed.
