A priest knew a special magic spell which could be used only once a year, when the planets were lined up in a certain way. Then he had only to clap his hands, and a shower of precious gems came down on him. One day, the priest and his student were travelling when they were captured by some robbers. They said, “We will release you only when you give us 500 gold coins.” The student whispered to the priest, “Sir, it is that time of the year when your magic spell will work. The planets will be lined in a special way tonight.” The priest said to the robbers, “I will give you the coins but you will have to wait till night falls.” The robbers agreed. During night time, the priest uttered the spell and was covered with precious gems. The excited robbers got greedy. They started fighting among themselves. In the meanwhile, the priest and the student took all the gems and ran away.
