The Silly Argument

Once, there were two friends – a lion and a tiger. They lived happily together. Not far from where they lived, dwelt a hermit. One day, the two friends got into a silly argument. The tiger said, “It becomes cold when the moon decreases from full to new.” The lion replied, “No. It becomes cold when the moon increases from new to full.” The argument gave way to a quarrel. Then, suddenly, both thought that they would become enemies if they continued to fight. So, they stopped fighting. They decided to go and ask a learned hermit about this. The hermit thought for a while and said, “It is the wind that brings the cold, not the moon. Do not destroy your friendship over silly arguments. Always remain united.” The lion and the tiger understood what the hermit meant. They thanked him and lived happily thereafter as good friends.
