Sheikh Chilli’s mother once sent him to the market to sell their rooster, as they had no money and there was nothing to eat at home. Sheikh could not stay hungry for long, so he hurried to the market with the rooster. Sheikh’s mother told him to sell it for the right price, which should not be less than two rupees. When Sheikh reached the market, a man told him that he had just one rupee left to buy the rooster. “I will sell it only for the right price, not left,” Sheikh said foolishly. A cheat, who overheard this, came to Sheikh and said, “Give me the rooster. I will give the money with my right hand and will give you four instead of two. Isn’t that more than the right price?” he asked slyly. Sheikh was confused, but was happy with getting the right price. He went home and gave four coins of twenty-five paise to his mother. His mother was shocked. She tried explaining to him that he had done wrong, but Sheikh said, “Four is more than two, Mother. Don’t you know?”
