The Rare Pearl

The male Natika, to pass the time, told his wife various stories related to the pearl egg. He said that as their species had lived on the shores of Kaharman since the creation of the world, he knew a secret. It was, that only once in thirty years, a female Natika laid an egg of this kind. For many years now, none of the Natika birds had laid this rare egg. And the ones that had been laid earlier, had sunk into the depths of the sea. Only two pearl eggs were above the ground. Chamchan, who was the king of Kaharman, owned the first one. The second, he gave to his neighbouring king Shamshan. Shamshan died without an heir and his wealth came into the hands of many strangers. The rare pearl egg, after passing through many hands, came in possession of Husna Bano, the daughter of Burzakh, the merchant.
