Hatim befriended the two genies and they told him their stories. The one who had taken the shape of the weasel said, “I killed his father because he would not let me marry his daughter. Now his son wants to kill me, so I have to kill him in self-defence.” The one who had taken the shape of the snake said, “I have to kill him because I have a younger sister. Who will take care of her if I die?” Hatim formulated a plan and met the weasel’s father who was the king. He said to him, “I know a certain genie who wants to kill your son because your son killed his father. But if you allow your son to marry his sister and give your daughter in marriage to him, there will be peace in your land forever.” The king liked his proposal and Hatim once again was successful in bringing peace.
