The Old Adviser

Once, a wise king ruled over a kingdom. He was worried about his son’s rude behaviour and anger. One day, the king went to visit his most trusted adviser and shared his concern. The adviser said, “O King, send the prince to me tomorrow.” So, the next day, the prince visited the adviser. They both walked in the countryside. The adviser pointed to a shoot and said, “Prince, please check how this leaf tastes.” The prince bit the leaf and said annoyingly, “It’s bitter! It may be a poisonous shoot. It should be uprooted at once. It could harm anyone if it is allowed to grow!” The adviser said, “You are right. Just like that, if your rudeness and anger keep growing, you will harm countless people and they will not accept you as their king.” The prince understood the adviser’s meaning. Since then, he became kind and loving towards all.
