Jemima said she was the best friend of Princess Gloria. But the princess was feeling a little upset with her because she was a nosey parker (an overly inquisitive person) and loved to gossip! Jemima would poke around and find out people’s secrets and then announce them everywhere. It was not nice to have a friend who was so unreliable! Princess Gloria decided that she would have to do something if Jemima wished to stop this dreadful habit. One day, Princess Gloria instructed her maid. The maid whispered loudly in Jemima’s hearing, “Don’t tell anyone! The princess is going to run-away and marry Prince George tomorrow!” Jemima whispered it to everyone she met that day. But the next day, the princess did not run-away! Jemima felt very foolish and felt very bad for having spread such a silly rumour. After that day, she never spoke other people’s secrets because none would believe her!
