The Monster in the Woods

Fred and his uncle David went hunting in the woods. There they saw huge bushes of wild berries across a stream. “I will pluck some wild berries,” said uncle David, and he went off. Fred sat by the stream. Suddenly, a hand tapped his shoulder. He turned around and saw his uncle. “Fred, come along,” said uncle David, and he led him on. Soon, they reached a small, dilapidated shed. They entered the shed and uncle David locked the door. Then, within seconds, as Fred watched, whiskers sprung from his uncle’s cheeks. His eyes glinted red, while hair sprouted from his hands and feet. His belly swelled. He licked his lips and rushed at Fred. Fred screamed and struggled as the monster tried to crush him with his claws. Just then, there was a gun-shot through the window. The monster dropped Fred. A pair of arms caught Fred by the collar and dragged him out. “Uncle David,” cried Fred, and he hugged him tight.
