Because of his being computer whiz kid Bill had become star of the school campus but in three subjects he was not getting better grades. His parents were questioning him about it. Bill did not let his morale flag down. He made a resolve to work hard to better his grades in other subjects as well. He aimed for ‘A’ grades. Bill was a good students in mathematics and used to go to the computer class derelicting mathematics classes. He was under the impression that he knew all about the subject.
Meanwhile, in USA an ‘Aptitude Test’ was held in schools to spot the talented students. Bill took part in the test. The result was surprising. Bill had made it to the top ten successful students of USA. It was enough to prove his capability and talents. It greatly boosted his own self confidence. He was now more sure of his determination and power of resolve. The Aptitude Test made all round positive impact. Now William and Mary also had no doubt about the unique talents of their son. The psychiatrist had made correct assessment of the mind of Bill. The parent now prided over their talented son.
A tenth class student, Bill was now teaching computer subjects in his school to students. The school had realised his extraordinary talent in digital science and exempted him from the mathematics classes to help him concentrate on his specialised field. All the circumstances were working in favour of Bill. He had begun to see future dreams in cooperation with Paul Allen and computers. But the dreams were still hazy. Bill and Allen started a small outfit called ‘Traff-o-Data’ and through Bill’s programming made a sum of twenty thousand dollars. It was a big deal those days. But the lack of experience in business cost them heavy. They lost the money and incurred some debt. But this experience made Bill and Allen clever youngmen who now had learnt the ropes of the business in hard way. The lessons learnt proved very useful in their future endeavours.
