Vishnu Sharma had taught all that was necessary to the Princes. Then he asked them if there was anything else they would like to know from him. The Princes had become wiser by learning to understand the details of how to run a kingdom. They had understood what kind of people they must trust, what noble and good is, how to rule people by recognising their qualities, and how to make friends with the right kind of persons. They thanked their revered teacher. They were now ready to go back to their father and assist him. The great Book of Good Counsel ends with thanks to King Dhavalachandra who was the patron and to the writer of the Hitopadesha, Narayana Pandit.
