Once upon a time, a kite’s son was very ill. The kite’s sister came up to her and said that she knew a good doctor for her son. “The spider is the best doctor here. I can ask him to come and see your son.” The mother kite asked her to send him to her house. So, her sister went to the spider and said, “The kite has a son and it is very ill. Will you go to her house and see him?” The spider agreed but at the same time was afraid to go there. He said, “There lives a hen near the kite’s house and she will eat me up.” The kite’s sister assured the spider that the hen won’t eat him up. So, the spider took his medicine bottles, put them in a bag and went to the kite’s house. But he was afraid of the hen. So, he wrote everything on the paper and put it into his bag with the medicine bottles. Soon, the spider saw the hen. He hid himself behind a tree.
Why the Kite Eats Chickens
But the hen saw the spider, picked him up and handed him over to her chickens to eat. Meanwhile, the kite kept waiting for the spider. After waiting for some time, she went out to meet the spider. Behind the tree, she saw a bag with medicine bottles and a sheet of paper. She picked up the sheet and read, “To the Kite. I was on my way to your home, when I met the hen who ate me up.” Afraid, the kite flew back to her little son. But the poor child had already died. Furious, the kite wanted to take revenge and began eating chickens. And now, the kite always catches chickens and, eats them. And whenever a person caught a hen, it cried out, “It was not I! It was not I!” It wanted to say, “I did not eat the spider! Not I! Not I!”
