The Handprint Marks

One summer afternoon, two sisters were swimming in the river when one was pulled under the surface. As the elder sister, Mae looked on, she saw her little sister, Jane, struggle to pull herself back to the surface, kicking and thrashing, as something tugged her underwater. When Mae saw something green with a hairy clawed hand pulling her sister, she screamed for help. “Please help my sister! Somebody please help!” she shouted as she pulled her sister’s hand out of the water. Jane somehow managed to free herself of whatever had grabbed her and both sisters swam out of the river as fast as they could. In addition to many cuts and bruises, Jane’s both legs bore the marks of a handprint, which could not be washed off for days.
