The egg was golden in colour and the most prized possession of the ogre, Grouch. Grouch kept the golden egg in the deepest part of his safe. He had a treasure full of precious jewels, gold ornaments and silver coins in his safe. However, the egg lay in a jewel box, which was inside three locked cabinets. It was impossible to get it. The golden egg contained Grouch’s seed of life. If the egg was to crack, Grouch would feel very sick and if it was to break, it meant Grouch’s death! There was no other way to kill the evil Grouch! Grouch was the most evil-hearted ogre to have ever walked planet Saturn. He loved hunting the gratgarphaliyas. Gratgarphaliyas were actually bird animals; they had heads and wings of birds and bodies of animals! Patpara, the little gratgarphaliya was the kindest and bravest soul. He helped everyone, feeding and giving shelter to the homeless gratgarphaliya community. Patpara had done it even at such a young age. One night, a baby gratgarphaliya came panting to Patpara’s house. He was scared, because Grouch was after her blood! Patpara, immediately, took his sword to fight against Grouch. It was a vicious battle between evil Grouch and little Patpara. It went on for 30 days. Patpara stabbed Grouch many times with his sword. Grouch would fall down, but the next day, get back on his feet and challenge Patpara! Poor Patpara was slowly losing his strength to continue fighting. One day after stabbing Grouch with his sword and knowing that he had a day before Grouch challenged him again, Patpara went to see his old grandmother. Grandma Berlaa knew the answer to everything without any doubt.
Hearing Patpara’s story, grandma Berlaa immediately told him about the golden egg. She told him that it would be in a place where no one could reach. The day was almost over when Patpara reached Grouch’s house. He looked all over the place, each nook and corner. But the golden egg was nowhere to be found. Finally, Patpara found the safe and banged it hard with all his might. Without the key it was impossible to open but Patpara was an intelligent little gratgarphaliya. He rattled the safe hard, banged it and shook it. Grouch was almost upon him with his claws, when he suddenly fell down dead.
Patpara had shaken the safe so hard that the egg inside cracked and broke.
