Arietta wanted to grow her nails long. She thought they would look good that way. Moreover, she even thought that they would hurt if she cut her nails. So, she was scared. Her mother always said, “Arietta, if you don’t cut your nails, they will get dirty. Germs will build up in them and you will fall sick.” But Arietta never listened to her mother. One day, Arietta fell sick after having food. Her mother called the doctor. After the check-up, the doctor said, “Arietta, your stomach seems to be upset. Your nails are too long and very dirty. There are so many germs in your nails! All those germs have made you fall sick.” The doctor gave her some medicines. Arietta looked at her dirty nails and she said to her mother, “Please cut my nails.” Arietta’s mother cut her nails one by one and she realised that it didn’t hurt at all.
