The Friendly Herd

In the forest far away, there was a herd of Elephants walking through the forest in search of water. All the lakes had dried up as it was summer time. The Elephants walked from one part of the forest to another.
One day, as they were walking, they decided to take shade under a big tree. As all the Elephants were tired, they lay down on the ground.
Under the tree, there lived a group of Mice. They had lived under this tree for generations. The Mice had made many holes under the tree.
As the Elephants lay down on the ground, many of the holes were crushed and many Mice died. The head of the Mice was worried. He politely went to the Chief of the Elephants and requested them, “Dear Elephant, our houses are under this tree. As your fellow Elephants lie down here, our houses are getting crushed. Would you please rest under another tree?”
The Elephant Chief considered his plea and moved to another tree with his herd. The Mice were very happy and thanked the Elephants.
A few days later, some of the Elephants were caught by a group of hunters. They were trapped under huge nets. Even though the Elephants were mighty yet they could not free them.

One of the Elephants went to the head of the Mice and asked him for help. The group of Mice headed towards the place where all the Elephants were trapped.
The Mice worked together and cut down all the nets. Soon, all the Elephants were free from the trap of the hunters. The Elephant Chief was grateful to all the Mice.
