There was an elephant in a village. All the villagers loved him. The elephant would visit the temple daily. On the way, he would stop at the florist’s shop, who would give him a garland. The elephant would then visit the temple and offer the garland to the deity’s idol. The people loved to watch the elephant worshipping in the temple. One day, the florist was in a bad mood. When the elephant came on his usual rounds, he pricked the elephant’s trunk with a needle instead of offering him a garland. The elephant was angry because the florist had punished him for no reason. He went to a canal near by and filled his trunk with dirty water. Then he went to the florist and drenched him and all his garlands with the dirty water. The florist realised his mistake but had to pay a heavy price for his misbehaviour.
