“Bring me a dragon’s tail!” ordered the haughty Princess Karen. “Then I shall decide what reward to give you!” The nobleman, the soldier and the poor farmer set off to get the dragon’s tail. They went to the mountain where it lived, but the nobleman was eaten up and the farmer was killed. The soldier waited and watched. The princess came there quietly to see what would happen. But the dragon caught her and took her into his lair! The soldier saw the dragon come out at night. He attacked it in the dark and killed it. Then he went in to search for the princess. He found her huddled with fright inside a cave. He took her safely to her palace and gave her the whole dragon, not only its tail. The princess was so happy that she married the soldier and they lived happily thereafter!
