Sheikh Chilli worked for the king once. The king was concerned about the safety of his kingdom. He suspected the sincerity of some of his guards. It seemed some greedy guards were allowing miscreants to enter the kingdom in exchange of money. But the king was unable to nab the culprits. One day, the king was busy in a meeting related to the security of his kingdom. He instructed the guards not to let anyone enter the palace. Sheikh came to the palace and demanded to be let in. The guards refused. So he said, “The king is going to give me a reward. I will share it with you, if you let me go in.” They agreed and allowed Sheikh to enter. The king was furious when he saw Sheikh inside his chamber. He ordered one hundred lashings as a punishment for Sheikh. Quickly, Sheikh called the two guards to share his reward. Thus, the king was able to nab the disloyal guards and Sheikh was rewarded.
