Lola was a simpleton. One day, her sisters asked her to sell their cow at the marketplace. There was a narrow path that led to the marketplace. There was a tree near the path. It had no leaves. It was old and it creaked with the wind. When Lola walked the narrow path, a sudden storm arose. The wind howled fiercely and the tree creaked loudly. Lola asked the tree whether it would buy the cow. The wind blew harder and the tree creaked louder. Lola thought the tree had agreed. She tied the cow to the tree. “I’ll come for the money later,” she cried, and hurried home. Lola’s sisters made fun of her foolishness. Next day, she went near the tree, but someone had taken her cow. In anger, Lola cut down the tree. As luck would have it, she found a treasure chest under the tree. She was rich!
