The Con-Artists’ Stupid Mistake

Two con-artists had just broken into FBI classified computers. Their plan was to sell the information to the highest bidder. As they were escaping the FBI building, a little kid saw them as he was playing basketball. The kid was hungry and, because of the black outfits, he thought the two men were people from the circus giving out candies. The kid screamed, “GIVE ME CANDY… NOOOOWW.” May I mention this is one very spoiled kid. The con-artists stopped in their tracks. They said to the little kid, “Don’t tell anybody about what you’ve seen; we are just going to stay in these bushes over here until morning; Okay.” They then added, “If anybody asks, just say nothing.” The boy agreed and went in the house, while the con-artists laughed over their success. Before morning came, the con-artists were behind bars. The little boy kept his promise, yet nobody else saw them. How were they captured?

Answer
The con-artists said, “If anybody asks, say nothing.” The dad of the little boy did ask, but when the little boy asked, “Are you anybody?”, the dad said, “No, I’m your father.” Then the boy told him.
