Once upon a time, there lived a cat in a forest. She thought that the lion was the strongest animal in the forest. So, she decided to make him her friend and went to meet him. They became very good friends and the lion always protected the cat from the other animals.
One afternoon, the lion and the cat were walking together. After some time, they saw an elephant sleeping in the middle of the path. The lion asked the elephant to give them side so that they might cross the path but the elephant didn’t move. Then, the lion got very angry and attacked the elephant. The elephant hit the lion and killed him. The cat was very scared. ‘What shall I do?’ she thought, ‘The elephant was stronger than the lion; it means the elephant is the strongest animal in the forest. I shall go to the elephant and befriend him.’
The cat talked to the elephant very politely and they became very good friends. One morning, the cat and the elephant went to the river to drink water. While they were drinking water, a hunter came and shot the elephant dead. The cat was scared and thought, ‘The man is stronger than the elephant.’ So, she went up to the hunter and asked him to take her along with him. The hunter agreed and took her to his home. At home, she saw that the hunter’s wife met him and took the gun from him. The cat thought, ‘Oh, the woman is the strongest of all. She can take the hunter’s gun from him and he does not even say a word.’ Then, the woman went to the kitchen and the cat went behind her. She decided to stay with the woman forever. That’s why you always see a cat in the kitchen.
