The Blame Game

Evan and Ryan lived with their parents in a little village. Their house was surrounded by green fields. One of their neighbours was an old woman, Mrs. Richards. She was very possessive about her big green garden. The kids’ parents had advised them not to play near her garden. Once, Mrs. Richards went shopping. Soon, Evan and Ryan started playing near Mrs. Richards’ garden. While playing, Ryan broke a yellow flower pot placed in Mrs. Richards’ garden. They became worried. Suddenly, they saw their neighbour Grace’s dog jumping near by. They had an idea–to blame the dog for the damage! As soon as Mrs. Richards returned, the kids told her that Grace’s dog had broken her pot. This made Mrs. Richards sad. Grace’s mother decided to send the little dog back to the training centre as a punishment. Grace was very sad; her dog was her best friend. When Evan and Ryan knew about the dog’s punishment, they confessed their guilt in front of Mrs. Richards. They felt it was better to speak the truth than lying.
