Hatim had been walking for days in the desert when he saw a dog. It looked exhausted, hungry and thirsty. Hatim took pity on it and carried it in his arms towards the closest village in order to feed it and look for its master. When Hatim reached the village, people offered him food and water, which he passed on to the dog. The hungry dog ate every morsel of the food and drank every drop of the water offered. Hatim then started enquiring in the village if someone had lost his dog, but the villagers had never seen that dog before. Hatim sat down and began to stroke the dog’s head in kindness. He felt a horn-like structure on top of the dog’s head. On examining it closely, he saw that it was a nail. As soon as Hatim pulled the nail out of the poor dog’s head, it turned into a handsome young man!
