Solar LED Lamp

Solar LED lamps, a part of the modern alternative technology, took almost a half decade to take their present form. The process of development started in the 1960s. In the mid-1960s, Japanese scientists installed a photovoltaic array to the Ogami island lighthouse. Thereafter in 1970s, Exxon Corporation took an initiative to develop an affordable solar cell. This low-cost cell proved a milestone in the history of solar cells as it made popular. With streets lit with solar lights, the next step was to build a solar powered residence. In the year 1973, one such residence Solar One was built. The roof of this house was made with a solar panel that stored the energy during daytime to be utilized during night. With the growing demands for alternative power source, the US department of energy started mega-scale solar power station in California in the year 1982. Though this development has little to do with Solar LED lamps, it proved a significant step in the development of these lamps. In the last decade, the solar panels used in the LED lamps have taken the form of charge batteries and power lamps.
