Sheikh Chilli’s mother scolded him constantly about not earning money. Sheikh, fed up of all the scolding, decided to take up any job, that very day. He came to know about a job at a house where the servants were ill treated. Still, he went to that house and met the master. The master said that he would cut one month’s salary and a bit of Sheikh’s ear, if he left the job. Sheikh agreed and said that he would give Sheikh one year’s salary and get his ear bitten, too if the master ever turned Sheikh out. The shocked master agreed as he thought it could never happen. Sheikh was given a number of household jobs, and he was very slow at all of them. Turning him out would mean giving Sheikh a year’s salary and getting his ear bitten, so the master started taking Sheikh along with him to the court. This was the only job where Sheikh sat all day outside the court, dreaming, and getting paid for it, too!
