One day, Sheikh Chilli decided to sell his goat and donkey. He tied a bell around the goat’s neck and tied the goat to the donkey’s tail. He rode on the donkey himself and went towards the village market. On the way, three thugs saw Sheikh and hatched a plan to cheat him. The first thug quietly went and untied the goat and tied the goat’s bell to the donkey’s tail. Sheikh rode on listening to the jingling sound of the bell. The second thug then came beside him, laughing. When Sheikh wanted to know the reason for his laughter, he asked, “Why have you tied a bell to the donkey’s tail?” Sheikh immediately got off to check. “What could have happened to my goat?” he wondered, scratching his head. The thug informed him that he had seen a goat being led away by a man, and pointed towards the bushes. Handing over the donkey’s reins to the thug to hold till he returned, Sheikh dashed into the bushes. Naturally, Sheikh lost his donkey, too!
