There lived a little girl called Rose. She had a kind aunt who once sent her some money as a birthday present. Rose was delighted. She started dreaming about the many nice things she could buy with the money. But she never thought of thanking her aunt. After a few days, Rose went to a nearby shopping mall and bought a beautiful dress and a bag full of toys with the money. Her friends appreciated her purchase. But one of her friends, Jenny asked her whether she had acknowledged her aunt or not. Rose felt very awkward. She had no answer to Jenny’s question. She decided to write a letter to her aunt and rushed back home. But when Rose reached home, her mother gave her a letter. That letter came from her aunt. It said, “I hope Rose has received my present. Did she like it?” Rose felt ashamed. One should express his or her gratitude without being asked.
