Serious about revamping your life and hitting on bull’s eye? Make your endeavours fruitful by organising your daily routine in a better way. Because that is sure way to success in life. When your routine vibes with limitless power of mind, you get a knack of grasping and analysing facts, and rise gracefully from exhaustion. This is what Dr. Mahendra Saraswat researched deftly on a class 7 student named Punit.

Punit, the child was not good at studies. As he passed his 7th standard, Dr. Saraswat intervened, denying him admission to the next higher class. Instead, his studies were arranged within his household premises. And many novel experiment were conducted on the child’s unfolding in the new environment. And one of these experiments related to regulation of his daily routine.
In course of above experiment, Dr. Saraswat made a schedule of Punit’s daily activities and encouraged him to develop a taste for studies and work decorum.
Circa 1991, and our Punit sits for examination of Secondary board as private candidate, passing it in flying colours with first division overall—and ‘credit’ in the subject of English language. All this while being absolutely on his own. No tuitions, no supervisor. All Punit did was to manage his studies and chores of daily life with dexterity and application.
If a mediocre like Punit can jump 2 classes in one go and romp home by improvising his daily routine—why can’t you—comparatively much better off—blitz likewise? Indeed you can, by taking stock of your present status and shuffling your routine in a positive manner.
A daily routine that is well made and executed religiously instils in you a love for your studies. A regulated chore keeps you upbeat at home, at studies, and at everything you do or intend doing. Time is precious, and managing it well is ought to be your forte.
Outline of a day spent well
Whatsoever you learn in school or college, or at home; that needs to be revised on a regular basis. Revision doesn’t take much time. If your day is well planned, it gives you rich dividends. Ensure you include ‘revision’ as important item in your list of Do’s. And, more importantly, keep updating your schedule.
Making best of your time while staying at home
After spending quite sometime at school or college, you still have a lot free time till you go bed—to sleep that is. Whatever free time or space you get in course of your daily routine; that you must learn to use well. It’s by managing this free time that you can achieve success in all your undertakings.
What you read or learned in your class a day before; that you must revise/recapitulate in such time gaps as : immediately upon getting up in morning, just after morning exercise, before going to school, before going to sleep, etc. Course contents covered during the week should be revised on Sundays and internicine holidays. Sunday that falls at the end of the month should serve for revision of the syllabus covered in past 30 days.’
Retire your reading-writing and memorising work in same order
Mull over the learning you had in school or college. Make note of difficult words and sentences, revising them over and over again till you feel easy with them. Important questions and their answers should be perused persistently.
Plan out other important tidbits as well
As you get up early in the morning, exercise for about 20-30 minutes daily. Then do relaxation exercises, like breathing in and out in rhythm. Take nutritive food to nurture mind and body. Occasionally, do check out whether you subscribe to standards you have set for yourself, or not.
Monitoring time in class room
A student spends a big chunk of his time (approximately 8 hours a day) in educational institution. Ostensibly he utilises this time for intellectual pursuit, but still, a significant fraction of it isn’t put to apt use. You must identify these wasted moments and work out on how to use them best.
For example, whenever you are free in class room, don’t while away time aimlessly. Rather, revert back to lessons covered earlier, and revise them. Infact you can do this even in the interregnum between the start of a period and the arrival of teacher in class room. Similarly when period ends, and the teacher leaves, you can flip pages and run through what has just been taught—till the next teacher comes in the class room.
Caring and sharing is part of healthy living. So, tell your friends and colleagues—even teachers, all that you find interesting and helpful on path of self discovery. Get your answer copies checked regularly by the teaching staff. Seek help of your teachers in preparing for competitive exams. Studying with your friends and colleagues, and solving problems collectively helps unfolding of your personality and learning most enjoyable.
And not the least important, is adequate sleep. To rest your mind after the day’s hard work, good sleep is mandatory. It helps if problems of perplexing and mind boggling nature are kept distant as you prepare for sleep.
Teacher-student groups would do well to rest their eyes for a minute after every 25 to 30 minutes of work strain.
Be speedy in delivering your lecture (speech) so that you finish teaching/explaining subject matter within stipulated time period. Do make notes while attending classroom discourses.
It is time management of such nature as will see you through academic as well as competitive exams and take you places. So, make friends with those minuscules of moments that tend to pass you by unnoticed during school hours. It is these bits of time that add up to make a difference and give you substantial help.
