RAMA AND HIS LEARNING

When Rama and his brothers had grown enough, King Dashrath called sage Vashishtha. The sacred thread ceremony of all the four princes was performed by the sage. Then, Rama and his three brothers were sent with sage Vashishtha for teaching. In very little time, the princes were perfected in education, courtesy, goodness and morality. Carrying their bows and arrows in their hands, the princess looked like completely skilled archers. Rama always woke up early in the morning and greeted his parents and teachers. Then taking their permission, he performed the routine work of the kingdom. Seeing the true devotion of his son, the king felt great happiness and satisfaction. Rama and his three brothers became famous throughout the three worlds and wiped out the fears of their devotees. All these habits and characteristics could be cultivated in the princes due to the significant role played by sage Vashishtha in their teaching. According to the sage, the habit of laziness is actually a disease that is responsible to bring unhappiness in man’s life. This is exactly what he taught to his students.
