Racial fervour

Adolf read quite a number of books on the history of Germans to discover the reasons for the sorry state of the German people. History was his favourite subject for the same reason.
The other subject he liked was geography, perhaps because it helped him understand the history better. In many cases lay of the land scripted the history of that place. And of course, his interest in painting never slackened. He read books on the same subject and tried his hand on canvas.
Adolf Hitler set two goals for himself—The first was to become a German nationalist and another was to understand history in that perspective.
During that period old Austria was an empire of several nationalities. After the French-German war the winning armies took out victory parades. In the aftermath the Reich’s Germans gradually began to forget about their German brethren who had settled down in other neighbouring lands. They were becoming strangers to the mainlanders.
Adolf understood this tragic phenomenon and tried to rally all the people of the Germanic origins by arousing their racial feelings. To whip up the pride of the Germans he devised the theory that they carried pure Aryan blood which made them superior to all other races. Even at that young age his mind was quite inventive in thinking of ways to achieve his objectives.
Adolf would say to the boys and girls—‘O German youth! Don’t forget that you are Germans. Young girls! Always bear in mind that you have to become German mothers. German youth have led several struggles. They have fought in their own way and with their own weapons.
The more others tried to run down the German race the more valiantly German fighters rose to the glory. The brave commoners saved money to help the fighters. They were aware of the empty talk of the non-German teachers and refused to be misled. The true German youth rejected their baseless claims. They fearlessly wore the German symbols banned by the government. They went through the punishments or tortures gladly for their Germanic beliefs. They were the true idols of nationalism. Today’s compromising elders must learn a lesson from them.’
So, Adolf in his very school days became a fiery teacher of racial politics leading to the divisions in the society on the blood lines. Thus he progressed on the path of the racial nationalism. By the time he reached 15th year of his age Adolf had formulated his intensely racial patriotism which was sharply different from the secular nationalism practised by the state.
In 1918 Hebzburg rule was destroyed. The people of Germanic origin of Austria declared their solidarity with their racial bretheren of the home land. Many of them wished to return to the homeland in the wake of emotional upsurge. Adolf Hitler was of the view that for the good of Germany the Austrian empire must disintegrate. He thought that nationalist feeling and traditional patriotism were two different things. The third theory of Adolf was that the House of Hebzburg meant tragic end of Germany.
Thus, Adolf was becoming more and more opinionated as he continued to grow along with his passions which included painting besides the politics. He spent more and more time infront of the canvas.
