Playing with the Sun

Once, many animals lived happily in a forest. The sun saw this and wanted to join in the fun. When the sun came down to the forest, his heat caused all the animals to run away and hide, as they could not bear it. This made the sun really sad and he went back to the clouds. He was so sad that he did not even come out to light up the world. Without the sun, the lovely forest and its animals became worried. The animals met urgently to figure out how to make the sun happy again. They had to reach a compromise–both the sun and the animals had to adjust to each other’s ways. There was a suggestion that they could play with the sun at night when he did not shine. Then they would all be saved from the heat of his rays. To be able to play at night, the animals tried to rest during the day. They managed to cheer up the sun and soon, the sun lit up the forest and the rest of the world.
